New 65-room budget hotel to open in Invercargill
AccorHotels has unveiled plans to open its first hotel in New Zealand’s southernmost city, Invercargill.
The new ibis Styles Invercargill will launch in October 2015, following the rebranding of the former Invercargill Apartment Hotel.
The budget hotel will feature 65 rooms, including studios, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, with kitchen facilities on each floor of the hotel. Other facilities will include a breakfast room, fitness facility, cinema, games room and free Wi-Fi.
“ibis Styles Invercargill is a strategic addition to our network becoming the 32nd hotel in the country and it will complement our existing South Island hotels in Dunedin, Wanaka, Queenstown, Christchurch and Nelson,” said Chris Sedgwick, AccorHotels’ senior vice president of operations for New Zealand.
“We’re confident that ibis Styles Invercargill will benefit from its new global branding, distribution platform and participation in our leading loyalty programmes.”
Located on Tay Street in the centre of Invercargill, the new ibis Styles will be just 10 minutes’ drive from Invercargill Airport.
